An important tool to verify the quantity and position of sludge in Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs), or to check their sludge volume.
In water supply tanks and lagoons, sludge accumulation generates nutrients that promote algae growth and manganese release, causing various issues. In wastewater treatment, sludge accumulation over time is a serious environmental problem, as it reduces the space available for microorganisms to act in contaminant reduction.
We offer our clients this important tool to determine the volume and position of sludge in lagoons and tanks, facilitating the decision-making process for sludge removal, treatment, and dewatering actions. In many cases, we conduct sludge gravimetric studies together with bathymetry and apply bacteria and their metabolites to enable biological digestion, carrying out sequential analyses to monitor its reduction. Depending on the sludge characteristics, we achieve biological degradation (reduction) of over 80%.
